Rhodiola Rosea has been used for thousands of years to treat a number of medical conditions. It is widely used to boost strength and help the body recover from stress. Other benefits of Rhodiola are to reduce fatigue, aid in muscle recovery, treat depression and anemia, boost mental, physical, and sexual function, treat or prevent altitude sickness, and even protect the liver. It works because it is an adaptogen, similar to ginseng, meaning it can help the body cope with physical or psychological stress. According to sources in alternative medicine, the general dose is 200-600mg for fatigue and anti-stress. Even doses as low as 50mg a day are effective enough to prevent fatigue. In clinical trials to treat depression, doses as high as 340-680mg have been used by practitioners.
