Phenylpiracetam is a new member of the Racetam family of nootropics that was created in Russia in the early 90s. It is a modified version of piracetam where a Phenyl group molecule is attached, making it 60 times more powerful than the original piracetam. The phenyl group molecule allows phenylpiracetam to cross the blood-brain barrier more easily and much more efficiently. That means people don’t have to take it in large doses in order to get the benefit, as with other nootropics. This in turn allows it to become active faster and is able to remain in the system longer. Studies have shown that it is able to remain active in the brain and body with a half-life of up to 5 hours. It also has “cleaner” stimulant effects that resemble what you might experience when taking something like Adderall. However, the side effects are safer than what you might experience when taking an amphetamine-based smart drug like Adderall.

Since it is very close to piracetam, phenylpiracetam has many of the same effects. It has cognitive effects such as increasing memory, speeding up recall, increasing learning capacity, focus, concentration, and also mental energy. It has been established that it has an effect on mood and movement, which makes it helpful to reduce motion sickness. Other than these cognitive benefits, there are also claims that it can increase tolerance and stamina during exercise and the ability to perform better under stress.

Research has shown that most people have initial results starting as low as 100 mg of Phenylpiracetam per day. When taking nootropics, it is best to start off with the lowest possible dose. This supplement however, can result in tolerance, so it should not be taken every day or on a long-term basis. One way to take it is a few days a week followed by a week or two of rest before taking it again.
